There IS Hope

The Christmas season can burst with joy or if one has lost someone in that year, it can be so sad. I just want to remind those who are struggling during this Christmas season that there’s hope!

Hope is a “confident expectation of good.” Even if your life feels gray and dead right now, as you keep moving, healing, and going, you will heal. Hope will return.

Where does hope come from? Christmas has the answer: The Son of God, Jesus, came to earth and was born as a baby–that’s what we are celebrating at Christmas: Jesus’ birth.
God wants to know each of the humans he has created, but he gave us the choice to choose him or not. Jesus lived on earth for 33 years, then died–to pay for our sins–and then came back to life and went back to heaven. Now it is up to us; we can have peace and hope through Jesus, if we open our lives to know Him. (He also will let us choose our own way, but that way leads to hopelessness and death.)

Our hope comes from being loved unconditionally by God–whether we return the love or not. Choose to return the love. Choose hope.

    Hello Mary.

    Yes our hope abides in God unfailing love to not just us but to all the world. I love reading the birth of Jesus in the Book of Luke. It lifts my spirits and warms my heart no matter my circumstances. “And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord…Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”
    (Luke 2: 10-11 & 14).

    I always remember the saying, “Wise Men still seek Him”

    Hi, what a beautiful post. I’ve had a difficult year with my mum suffering from a brain injury that has left her a shell of her former self. At times I have given up hope yet I continue to move forward. And I still believe and hope that everything is for a reason, even when we don’t know what it is.

      Thank you for stopping by, and I’m thankful that my words encouraged you. That sounds so hard to see your Mum change in a difficult way. I’m so sorry about that–that is happening a bit with my Dad right now.
