Our Getaway Car!

After the wedding, you need a getaway car, right? Well, our friends Robyn and Andrew created personal and hilarious decorations for our getaway car! Yes, I got into a little Prius with a big dress, but it was what we had…so here’s what they did:

Getaway car-back

Yes, my new last name is Schuh–and it is German, pronounced like “shoe,” so our friends played a lot with that theme:

So we had a blast driving away from the church in it, driving away from the reception, AND driving a toned down version (we left the Just Married) on the back when we drove up north to celebrate Independence Day. We got over eleven congratulatory waves, smiles, and thumbs up from fellow travelers along the interstate!

And this is what we saw when we got to the cabin:

We got to drive into the sunset.

Have a happy end to your Friday!

Hello Friends, A curious, kind, practical, and energetic writer, wife, mother, and teacher is one way to describe me. I enjoy thinking about transitions--in schools, churches, families, relationships, and even countries. I'm passionate about learning, and I love working with people. Stop by often to see which kind of transition I'm thinking about, and I would appreciate hearing your thoughts. Peace! ~Mary Hope

  1. Wow, what a view. I think of Karen Carpenter’s song, “We’ve only just begun”. Thanks to your friends for the shoes hanging out of the trunk. My sides hurt laughing. Thanks for sharing.
