My First Friday Introduction of 2018 /// A New Mother Report

Thank you for stopping by! Here’s a bit about me for those of you who have just followed me recently (and a new mother update for those of you who know me already.)

Here’s three important things about me:

1. I enjoy writing. I have been scribbling words since I was two years old and now I get to write while nursing my baby boy, and a little bit when he is napping.

2. I love people. I knew I would like being a mom, but now that I have a wonderful baby boy, I am even more fulfilled than I thought I would be. The fulfillment comes from seeing my baby sleeping in my arms, seeing his smile, and seeing him grow. (He has his dad’s eyelashes that are nice and curly.) In the last two weeks, our baby, Joel, has been smiling back at us a lot more. He has my blue eyes, and they sparkle with life, especially when he is smiling up at me.

3. Cooking food makes me so happy! I love to eat, love to cook, and enjoy cooking for people. It took until week six of Joel being with us for me to get back to cooking (so many wonderful folks brought us meals, so I could wait to get back into cooking), and I’m still cooking large things, like a turkey or a huge pot of turkey soup, that we can eat for days. My husband and I made lemon bars from his parents’ lemon tree in California that they sent us, so I’m expanding out.

So that is a bit more about me. ☺️

Thank you for reading and responding. Have a wonderful weekend!

Hello Friends, A curious, kind, practical, and energetic writer, wife, mother, and teacher is one way to describe me. I enjoy thinking about transitions--in schools, churches, families, relationships, and even countries. I'm passionate about learning, and I love working with people. Stop by often to see which kind of transition I'm thinking about, and I would appreciate hearing your thoughts. Peace! ~Mary Hope
