I’m thankful, Mom, that you:
Taught me how to sew, and that we made that blue and green apron together. You were tired, but I loved making that special project with you.
Taught me how to cook and bake bread! You showed me the basics and then let me go. I’m thankful I got to grow up on homemade bread and butter, with our homegrown honey too.
Taught me how to paint—you weren’t afraid to let us all watercolor paint flowers with you.
Taught me how to write—you gave me my first journal, encouraged me that I could write, and modeled writing letters, devotionals, and more.
Taught me how to garden. You have a much greener thumb than I do, and you taught me how to plant seeds, squish tomato worms, and harvest tomatoes and can them.
Taught me that knowing God gives me hope and peace.
Taught me that motherhood is an amazing job to have. You were happy as a mother, and so that is why I always wanted to be a wife and a mother as my top career goal.
Love, Mary Hope
