Should I go to an Amusement Park when Pregnant? Transitioning from Wife to Wife AND Mother

When pregnant, should you spend the money to go to an amusement park, such as Six Flags or Cedar Point? The doctor will say “NO—do NOT ride roller coasters when pregnant!!” On the other hand, there are other things to do at these parks, such as gentle rides, eating the fun food, and being able to be there with someone you love. Consider these questions before you decide if you should go or not:

Stephen is in that car about to go over the edge of the Millennium Force!

John Hancock Building Lobby Spectacular!

Last night my husband and I enjoyed dinner at the John Hancock building and as we were leaving, we walked past this very sparkly display! It has water underneath it that looks like polished marble, and reflection is like glass. Looking into the center of this display reminded me of outer space.

Enjoy this cool display with me, and have a wonderful start to your week!

Catalpa Tree Blooms!

Driving to work yesterday I noticed this catalpa tree when I was waiting at a stoplight. Catalpa blooms look like little orchids with their cream background and maroon specks; they are one of my favorite blooms that come from a tree.

Happy Friday, Everyone!

Dyed Mum Explosion!

My boss gave me these mums in honor of teacher appreciation day! The color of these flowers made me remember what I learned in my floral design class that these used to be white mums and were dyed all these brilliant colors through having the flowers suck up dyed water.

These flowers have made my week brighter! Happy Thursday.

The Second Grade’s Chicks!

The second grade students and the teacher are raising chicks! I stopped by to see them this afternoon and got a hold of them in my hands. These checks remind me of fun times I had when I was a child,  and we had chicks in a big box in our kitchen. Great memories! 🐥

Need to Get Lost in a Book? This Book Will Do It!

Book Review on: The Girl Before by Rena Olsen (Psychological Thriller)

The Girl Before caught me at the title; it made me curious and so I pulled the book off my friend’s bookshelf. Later my friend showed me that her copy is signed by the author because she worked with and is friends with her!

This book is psychological thriller (it gets inside your head!) The author structured the book in short, two-page sections where you alternate between the present and the past. It keeps you wondering because it does not keep you in one time period. You get pulled into the action of the book quickly because of this book structure, and I read the whole 300+ page book within 24 hours! There is a lot of twists going on as you understand what the protagonist is going through (as she discovers it herself); you discover the truth along with the main character.

The Girl Before by Rena Olsen is beautifully crafted and inspiring, but also heart-wrenching in regards to what it teaches you about the effects of human trafficking. Read this book!
