Only One week Until Forty Weeks! More Maternity Shoot Photos

38 weeks pregnant!

We have one week to go until we are 40 weeks pregnant! It feels like I have a basketball straped to my front that likes to move and sort of stretch and kick me periodically. 🙂 Overall I am feeling well; I take a lot of naps and am having warm up contractions.

We are finishing up taking out old carpet and replacing it with wood laminate in seven rooms in our house –we have about 1 1/2 rooms left, and we could use your prayers that we finish before our baby arrives! My Mom told me that my Dad was re-doing the floors in their house when I arrived…so there may be some sort of tradition going on.

I thought I would share a few more of the shots from our maternity shoot with our sister in law, Lindsey, back in July:

Maternity Photo Shoot

Celebrating the coming of a new baby is the point of a maternity photo shoot, so when my sister-in-law, Lindsey, of Triple Lux Photography, offered to work with us to take photos of my pregnancy, I delightedly agreed! Peaceful Focus

“Focusing is about saying No.” -Steve Jobs

Saying “No,” marks a boundary, making space for what you desire to create, and even though it hurts to reject a person or an idea, protecting that space will result in momentum toward your goal.

For example, this last year as I was teaching middle school English, I had to say “No,” to hanging out with friends on Sunday night because I had to mentally prepare to be ready to teach. In order to be focused, my No helped!

Being able to say no eliminates distractions.

Classic Book Review: Pride and Prejudice in Less Than 150 Words

Today I wrote a review of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen using only 144 words; having to condense the story to its main points, like a movie trailer, is a great way to practice writing more concisely. Here’s what came out:

Hawaii Honeymoon Highlights

On the north side of Kawaii this lighthouse stands, and we enjoyed gazing at it and walking up around it. Here are more scenes from our trip to Kawaii, Hawaii last June:

Hope’s Light

Have hope! This light coming through the bloom just relaxes me. My Mom’s new temporary place has amazing flowers that she helps her landlady with, and we got to see in the setting sun last night on a quick stop through Rockford. It is wonderful to be married and at home! More stories to come of the wedding. 🙂
