Have the Courage to Ask for What You Want

Jump in and take a risk you are thinking about– even if it makes you quake in your boots. I love this quote from Oprah Winfrey:

  • “You get in life what you have the courage to ask for.”

For example, yesterday a local flower shop was giving away roses to people named Mary (they pick a different name every Friday for free rose Friday.) I was making notecards at home, but when I saw that it was my name they picked, I had to decide if I wanted to drive ten minutes to receive a free rose. I pondered the situation and then decided to go for it! I walked into the shop, asked for a rose, and they let me have this beautiful peachy/maroon bloom.
I’m glad I took that little risk because I have a rose that smells like honey on my counter. 🌹 Take that risk today!

What is This Rose’s Story?

This morning on my run I ran past a restaurant and spotted this rose in the grass. The blossom still had beauty to it, so I decided to snap a couple photos. The story behind this flower makes me curious.  The rose is white, so does that mean a friend gave this rose to someone else and the other person did not want to just be friends? Or could it have been just the table decoration that someone snunk out of the restaurant? I do not know the answer; this rose will just keep its secret, but it brightened my morning by how it had a crinkled edge and just made my morning more beautiful.

Have a great week! 🌹 🌹

I didn’t think the week before a wedding would be this crazy!

I
had a blast wheeling around Mariano’s yesterday picking out my favorite foods (spaghetti, chocolate pudding, baby carrots…), and this beauty made me stop, and enjoy the moment. Wedding week is more stressful than I thought–it’s not all happy like the movies; however, the advice to stop and enjoy the joyful moments makes more sense too. Having a wedding and marriage makes your life even more life-y–double stress, sadness, anger, joy, happiness, hope, peace… I’m ready, with God’s help! Today is wedding reception bulk-flower pick up day. Stephen’s basement is going to beautiful over the next couple of days! 3 days to go!!
